
Justin Poitras
Justin serves as Head of Investor Relations at Illuminate, where he leads the firm’s capital formation strategy and investor relationships, supporting Illuminate’s continued growth as a specialist venture capital investor.
With experience across private markets, capital formation, and advisory, Justin has worked closely with institutional investors and alternative asset managers across fundraising, investor relations, and secondary transactions, giving him a broad perspective on the private markets ecosystem.
Most recently, Justin was a member of the Investor Relations team at Fin Capital, working on institutional fundraising and investor engagement across the firm’s venture capital and growth equity strategies. Before that, he was a member of the Secondary Advisory team at PJT Partners, advising institutional investors on complex LP-led secondary transactions.
Justin earned a BA in Political Science from Trinity College and began his career as an M&A paralegal at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York. Justin is particularly interested in the evolution of private capital markets, the growing role of financial technology in transforming institutional finance, and how innovation is reshaping the way capital is raised, allocated, and managed.
Outside of work, you’ll find Justin traveling, fishing, skiing, riding his motorcycle, or with his head in a science fiction novel.
