Hugo Hazon
Hugo Hazon is an Investor at Illuminate Financial, where he focuses on investment opportunities in early-stage enterprise software companies in Europe and the US.
With over four years of experience across the venture capital ecosystem, he has worked as both an institutional investor and an active angel investor, giving him a unique view of the founder-investor partnership from seed to scale.
Previously, Hugo was a Venture Analyst on the Fintech team at Plug and Play Tech Center in Paris, where he contributed to investments in companies like Elba and Sopht. Before that, he served as a buy-side equity analyst at Groupe Caisse des Dépôts. Earlier in his career, he was a professional volleyball player. Hugo holds a Masters degree in Climate Change & Sustainable Finance from EDHEC Business School and Mines Paris - PSL.
He is particularly interested in AI-driven enterprise software, the evolution of the CFO stack, and how AI is changing the way we build software and the tooling used, and how these shifts will redefine the economics of how businesses are managed.
Outside of work, you’ll find him staying active through sports, drawing on his background as a former professional athlete, or making crepes.
